Asiaju Erogbogbo, Chairman IKODASS commissioning the rehabilitated water system

“I want to thank the IKODASS Chairman for being here with us. We discovered that the water system has broken down when we came here and I presented it to our members at the meeting as part of our programmes for the year.

“I introduced it to them that we need to assist our school because the broken down water system has made the school abandon its toilet facility because there was no water for flushing and cleaning. To the glory of God, they accepted it and today, we are here to hand it over,” he said.

Asiwaju Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, IKODASS, expressed his happiness that Ikorodu people are taking up responsibilities in developing the infrastructure in Ikorodu which has been adjudged to be the third largest city in Southwest, Nigeria:

“If you will remember, we brought some school unforms and exercise books donated by an association. I am happy that we are taking responsibility of our city. This is Ikorodu city, the second largest city in Lagos and the third in Southwest- Nigeria and also the fifth largest city in entire Nigeria.

“I make bold to say that the economy of Ikorodu is bigger than the economy of two states in the Southwest of Nigeria. So, we can’t do less; we are supposed to raise champions and champions are raised from primary schools. We are supposed to raise leaders; leaders are raised from the wards and not the state.

“We need to get it right, so, I am happy when young people; the generation next are doing what they are doing. You take responsibility and take charge. Our leaders and fathers are already on the tarmac and it will be left for you to take charge of your city”, Asiwaju Erogbogbo said.

The IKODASS Chairman also assured the school that the body that he presides over is ready to fix the school electric metre. In the same manner, he pledged that IKODASS would also fix the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA).

“I am happy that we are doing this and I know we also need electricity to power it. We have been on that but your school is responsible for the delay. We were told that you don’t have metre and IKODASS want to fix meter for you but we can’t do anything until we see we see your bill. That is the only way for us to know how to go about.

Commissioning

“For the LGEA, we will come for your hall to fix it. You will no longer be using the union (teachers) hall. We will give you your own hall.

“It is already done and settled. I can assure you that we will set in this month. I want to thank all of you for taking this initiative. This is a bold step. The teachers will be encouraged and as I always say that if you want to see best of teachers, come to the public schools. That is where you will find the best of teachers because they are not only qualified and professional but they are also mothers and fathers.”

Mrs Alice Oluwayemisi Adebusoye, the headteacher of Muslim Primary School, Ikorodu, was full of appreciation to the club that undertook the rehabilitation of the water project.

She narrated to the present staff and guests how she made frantic efforts to contact people in Ikorodu to assist the school but all to no avail.
